# Create a list

1. From the sidebar, select **Audiences**, then click **Lists & segments**.
2. Click **Create**> **Create list**.

3. Enter a name for your list.
4. \[Optional]  Enter a description for your list.

5. Click **Add list**.

You can add contacts to a list when you [import](/applications/audience/contacts/how-to/create-contacts.md) new contacts.
