# Additional costs for using 10DLC

When using 10DLC, you will accrue some additional costs, depending on the carrier (mobile operator). Some US and Canadian operators have also introduced additional charges for brand and use case registrations. We break down these costs below.

### Registration and subscription fees

Additional charges for brand and campaign (use case) registrations have been introduced by US operators. These charges will be passed on to you by Bird during the setup of your 10DLC brand and campaign.

#### Brand registration fees

| Brand registration          | Applicable to any brand which is currently not registered through MessageBird at the Campaign Registry. Charged on brand submission    | $4                    |
| Brand resubmission          | If a brand registration is not approved, and you would like to resubmit the brand there is a resubmission fee charged for each attempt | $4 (per resubmission) |
| Brand secondary vetting fee | Fee for Brand vetting. Secondary vetting is an additional brand review done by the carriers which may allow for higher throughput.     | $40 (optional)        |

#### Use Case registration fees

\*Campaigns can only be resubmitted if the registration with status "Declined". Campaigns with status "Rejected" or "Suspended" require a new registration.

#### Use Case subscription fees

You will be charged a monthly subscription fee after the initial 3-month minimum commitment period ends. This fee will continue to be charged until you cancel the subscription.

#### Carrier pass-through fees

There are additional Carrier Pass-through fees per message on top of Bird message rates. These are determined by the operators and are subject to change.&#x20;

\*Note: These additional costs will be added to current Bird message rates. Message charges will continue to be: Base Bird message rate + Surcharge to destination carrier = Total message cost.

#### Fines for "inactive" campaigns

Campaign IDs that have not received any live traffic in the past 60 days must be deactivated. Failure to do so will result in a fine of $250 USD per "inactive" or so-called "ghost" Campaign ID.
