Exporting an email to Marketo
To export a version to Marketo you will need to select the Project, Mailing and finally the Version you would like to export. You can export from the Mailing level, Version level or from the visual editor.
To export:
In Taxi, head to your Home screen Select the Project that contains the version you want to export
Select the Mailing If you are Admin you can select the Kebab menu and select 'Export' on the mailing level
After selecting the Mailing you will see the Versions page Select the 'Export Mailing' option on the right-hand side of the screen under the Exports section. Alternatively select the version you want to export to open it in the visual editor.
In the visual editor, select 'Export Mailing'
On the Export page, scroll to ESP connectors Select your Marketo connector
6. Define from name, from email, template folder. email name and folder for the email
In Marketo, each email campaign is linked to a template. You can define the folder these templates are created in when exporting emails. The templates and campaigns need to be in the same workspace/area in Marketo so being able to define the template location ensures this.
The default folder is set in the connector settings.
7. Select 'Create a new email' or 'Update an existing email' Fill in the details. The email you are creating needs to be inside a Marketo program.
Selecting the Marketing Activities folder in the pop-up folder selector may result in an error as this represents the overall area of the Marketo account
To see the nested folder structure within top-level folders you need to click on the name of the folder, not on the 'select folder' button e.g. If I click the word Default, I can see all the folders within Default. However, if I click 'select folder' next to Default this means I am selecting this folder to export to, not looking inside Default for another folder to choose.
8. Under the Segmentation section You can select if you want to export one version or multiple versions.
9. Select 'Start Export'
You will see a green banner when your export is complete and you can open your exported email in Marketo from Taxi.
