User Management

Add Users to Your Workspace

You can invite team members to collaborate in your workspace by adding them as users. Depending on the role you assign, they’ll have different levels of access to different parts of the platforms such as campaigns, content, and reports.

Who Can Add Users?

Only users with Workspace Admin roles can add new users. If you don’t see the “Add User” option, contact your Workspace Admin.

Steps to Add a New User

  • From your navigation menu, navigate to Settings > User Management > Users & Groups

  • Click Add > User

  • Enter the User’s Details

    • Provide the new user’s email address.

    • Add their Username for easier identification. This should be in small characters and no spaces.

    • Add their Full name

    • Select one or more roles from the dropdown (e.g., Workspace Admin, Marketing Admin, Campaign Manager, Content Creator, Marketing Analyst, Visitor).

  • The user will be created with Pending status. Once they accept, their account will be Active with the role you assigned.

  • You can only update the Roles after a user is created. You can also Delete a user to remove them,

Roles & Policies

Bird use roles to control what each user can do. Policies are bundle of permissions given to each role. You can view roles under Settings > User Management > Roles & Policies.

In Bird, the standard roles and their permissions are:

  • Workspace Admin: Top-level administrator with full workspace control.

    • Can create and edit any campaign, journey or content, manage templates, and access all reports.

    • Workspace Admins can manage all users – they can invite, edit (change roles) or delete any user.

    • Workspace Admins can also manage all workspace settings.

    • This is like a “Super Admin” or Owner role on other platforms, which has full access of a workspace.

  • Marketing Admin:

    • Full marketing privileges but no user-management.

    • This role can create, edit, and deploy campaigns, journeys, audience and marketing content and view all campaign reports.

    • Marketing Admins cannot manage workspace settings but they can manage Marketing app settings

  • Campaign Manager:

    • Focused on campaign operations.

    • Can create, run, and edit campaigns, journeys, content, audience and view their performance

    • Cannot manage settings or users.

  • Content Creator:

    • Focused on content creation.

    • Can create, edit, and delete marketing content like email templates message templates but cannot launch campaigns / journeys

    • Cannot manage settings or users.

  • Marketing Analyst:

    • Read-only analytics access.

    • Can view dashboards, reports and campaign or journey metrics in the dashboards, but cannot create or modify campaigns, journeys, content, audience or users.

    • Equivalent to a “Viewer” role that can see reports but cannot edit campaignsIdeal for team members who need insight into performance but no edit rights.

  • Visitor:

    • Minimal/view-only access.

    • Can log in and browse published content or select reports as allowed, but cannot create or change anything.

    • This is useful for external stakeholders or staff who need to view the system without editing.

Note that Bird doesn't support creating custom roles yet.
