Working from home and doing lots of video calls with customers can be quite challenging, especially when there isn’t always an option to have the video call in a professional-looking setting.

That’s why we’re introducing Backgrounds! You will be able to edit your background in a 24sessions video call by blurring it, picking from a default selection of background images or even displaying a custom background, like the logo of your company.

With the ability to change your background, guests will no longer be able to see what is in the room behind you. So you can create a professional-looking setting anywhere!

This article covers:

Enabling backgrounds

You can enable backgrounds during your media device check or in the meeting room.

If you want to set up backgrounds during your media device check, you can click the backgrounds icon on the bottom right of your video preview, as shown below.

If you want to enable or change the background in the meeting room, you can do this by clicking the "Backgrounds" button in the bottom left of your screen or by clicking the three dots on the bottom left of your screen in the meeting room and subsequently clicking "Backgrounds".

You can also click on the gear in the conference room, to get to your media settings and change your background there as you would during the media check (see above).

Setting up the right background

When you enable backgrounds, a pop-up will appear with a video preview. You can then select the background you think fits this meeting best.

If you want to set up a blurry background, you can click the frame with the blur icon on it. If there are any custom company backgrounds uploaded, they will appear directly to the right of the blurry background. You can click these to select them. You can also select one of the preset images, making you seem like you're in a nice office or even out in nature!

Not feeling a background right now? You can easily turn it off again in the same pop-up by clicking on the top-left frame with the 🚫 -sign on it.

Once you have selected a background you are happy with, you can exit out of the video preview by clicking on the button with the ❌ -sign on the top-right of the pop-up.

Error messages

Are backgrounds not working for you? See what each error message means here!

Backgrounds are (currently) not available: Due to a temporary error on our side, backgrounds are not working at the moment! Should this happen, please report this to our support, so they can pass it on.

Best practices

For an optimal result, we have some best practices:

  • Don't sit too close to the camera

  • Make sure there's enough light in the room

  • Use small or no headsets. Big headsets are not detected.

  • Clothes should have enough contrast to the background.

  • To allow for the best performance, please close any other programs that are not necessary for the video meeting.

Backgrounds are not available in your browser: Your browser does not support our backgrounds. A tip to avoid this is to use a browser that is on .
