# Resetting a password

This article will explain how you can reset your password from the forgotten password link and through your account settings. It also covers what to do if you are not receiving reset password emails from Taxi for Email.

### Resetting a forgotten password

You can reset your password from the Taxi login page by clicking on the Forgot password option.

To reset your password:

1. On the Taxi login page select 'Forgot Password'
2. Enter the email address that you use for your Taxi account and select 'Reset Password'
3. We'll send you an email which includes a link to reset your password.\
   Click on the link in the email, and enter your new password into the field. This will reset your password. When a new password reset email is generated the link in the old email won’t work.

### Update your Password

To update your Taxi password from your account settings:

1. Click your user icon on the bottom left hand corner of your Taxi screen\
   Select 'Edit Profile'
2. Scroll to 'Password' and select 'Change Password'
3. Fill in your current and new password details and select 'Set Password'
4. Use your new details the next time you log in

### Why hasn't the password reset email gone through?

Sometimes emails from Taxi get blocked by corporate firewalls and spam filters.

If possible, please add the following email address to your whitelist.

* <noreply@emailcms.net>
* <preview@emailcms.net>
* <taxibot@emailcms.net>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.bird.com/taxi/manage-your-organisation-settings/security-2/resetting-a-password.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
