Journey templates

Journey templates are pre-built, fully customizable templates designed to help you get up and running as soon as possible.

In this article, you'll learn how to use and customize journey templates. Our library of journey templates has been designed with the most popular marketing use cases in mind.

How to find and set up a journey template

Journey template requirements

  • You can only start to edit a journey template when you've met all of the template requirements listed in the template preview.

  • If you haven't met the requirements yet, you won't be able to click the Create journey button in step 5.

  • Resolve requirement issues by clicking any requirement with the Action required label and following the instructions.

Follow these steps to find and set up a journey template.

  1. Go to Engage customers > Journeys.

  2. Click the Template gallery tab. From here, you can browse the available templates, or use the search bar to look for a specific template.

  3. You can also use the channel and use case filters to narrow down the template results.

  4. Once you've found the template that you want to use, click the template. We'll show you a preview of the setup, and any requirements that you will need to meet to be able to use it.

  5. Click Create journey.

  6. Type your journey's name into the blank field. For example, 'Welcome new subscribers'.

  7. Click Create journey.

How to configure and publish a journey template

Errors: When you first set up a journey template, we'll flag any errors at the top. Don't worry–these errors just mean that you've not configured something in your journey yet.

Depending on the journey template you've chosen, you'll need to provide additional information so that the journey can run. This information might include:

  • Messaging channel

  • Content template

  • Contact list

  • Connector instance

Resolve errors, configure your journey template, and publish it by following these steps:

  1. To resolve configuration errors in your journey, click the View button on the error banner at the top of your screen.

  2. The steps with configuration errors will be displayed in the panel on the right.

  3. Select one of the steps from the list.

  4. Fill out the required information for that step. Click Save.

  5. Repeat the process until all steps are valid.

  6. You're ready to publish your journey! Click Publish in the top right-hand corner.

Success! You've just published your first journey template!
