Build a knowledge base

Learn how to build a knowledge base to be used by an AI Agent

Step one: Install your OpenAI integration

Before you can build a knowledge base and start using AI Agents, you'll need to install the OpenAI integration.

  1. Click your name in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen.

  2. Click Manage integrations > Add integrations.

  3. Search for and install the OpenAI integration.

Step two: Create a folder structure

  1. Click your name in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen.

  2. Go to Settings > AI > Knowledge base.

  3. Click Add new folder.

  4. Enter a name for your folder, such as 'FAQs', then click Get started.

  5. Select your newly-created folder, then click Add new.

  6. Select Folder from the drop-down.

  7. Enter a name for your folder, such as 'Product recommendations', then click Get started.

  8. Repeat the process for every folder that you want to add to your knowledge base.

At this stage, your knowledge base might look like the following image:

Step three: Add your documents

  1. From your knowledge base, select the folder that you want to add your documents to.

  2. Click Add new.

  3. Select Document from the drop-down.

  4. Name your document.

  5. In the text field, enter your document content.

  6. Use the styling tools to add H1, H2, and H3 tags, and any other types of formatting.

  7. Click Publish document.

  8. Repeat the process for every document that you want to add to your knowledge base.
