Contact profiles

Every contact that is stored in Bird has a contact profile. This is where you can see all available data that you have about that contact.

View a contact profile

Contact profiles are accessed from Grow Customers.

  1. From All contacts > Directory, find the contact you want to view.

  2. Click to select the contact. A panel will appear on the right-hand side of your screen.


The Attributes tab contains identifying and non-identifying contact attributes.

Identifier attributes

An identifier is a unique piece of information, such as a phone number or email address, that is used to identify a specific contact in your contact directory.

Other contact attributes

Content attributes are non-unique pieces of information that are connected to a contact profile, and can be used to personalize customer experiences.


In the 'Identifiers' section of a contact profile, unique information such as phone numbers and email addresses are stored.

Bird attributes

In the 'Bird' section, additional attributes are stored. These attributes are sourced from CSV imports, by adding individual contacts manually, or by updating a contact's profile in Inbox or via Flows.

Here's the information you can find by default in the Bird attributes section:

  • Display name

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Avatar URL

  • Country

  • Created at

  • Updated at

  • SMS subscription

  • Email subscription

  • WhatsApp subscription

  • Locales

  • Gender

  • Lists

You can add new Bird attributes by going to Grow customers > Attributes > Create attribute.

Connector attributes

Connector attributes are sourced from installing connectors, such as Salesforce, Hubspot, or Shopify. On a contact's profile, in the attributed tab, these attributes will be displayed in a section under the name of the connector that they were sourced from.


The 'Activity' tab is a visual timeline of every event that a contact has engaged with. This includes events from within Bird, such as campaigns they've been sent, and events from installed ecommerce connectors, such as an abandoned checkout in Shopify.

Bird activity

  • WhatsApp Message Sent

  • WhatsApp Message Delivered

  • WhatsApp Message Read

  • WhatsApp Message Reply Clicked

  • Email Sent

  • Email Delivered

  • Email Bounced

  • Email opened

  • Email link clicked

  • Email marked as spam

  • SMS sent

  • SMS delivered
