# TikTok Ads

With the TikTok Ads integration you can track the performance of your TikTok Messaging ads when conversations are started on connected WhatsApp and/or Facebook Messenger channels in Bird CRM. This allows you to more effectively monitor the performance of your TikTok Messaging ads.

## About TikTok Messaging Ads

[TikTok Messaging Ads](https://ads.tiktok.com/help/article/about-tiktok-messaging-ads?aadvid=7096064798990893058) allow prospective customers to start conversations with businesses through TikTok Direct Messages and Instant Messaging Apps.

With Instant Messaging Ads, users are redirected outside of TikTok to the third-party messaging app, such as Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp, to start chatting with advertisers.

TikTok Messaging Ads are a good solution for advertisers looking to:

* Reach new customers: Tap into a new audience and meet new customers by leveraging the power of TikTok's vibrant community.
* Shorten the path-to-action: Two-way communication allows customers to get what they need from business to make a decision and take action faster.
* Qualify leads immediately: Screen for prospects that are likely to convert immediately.
* Put their customers at the center: Be where your customers are and build lasting business relationships with new and existing customers for higher lifetime value.

## What you can do with the TikTok Ads connector

Currently the TikTok ads connector allows advertisers running TikTok Messaging Ads to track ad performance based on the following conversation events:

* **Conversations**
  * When a visitor has started a Facebook or WhatsApp Messaging conversation from a TikTok ad
* **ValidConversation**&#x20;
  * When a visitor has exchanged 5 or more messages with a business within the same chat session

Events will be automatically reported to TikTok if the goal is met within 7 days from the initial ad click and if another ad click is not initiated&#x20;

## How to install the TikTok Ads connector

### What you'll need

* A working TikTok for Business account
* A working WhatsApp Business Account and/or Facebook Business page

### Step 1: Access the TikTok Ads connector in BirdCRM

1. From any page, click on your name in the top left corner of the screen, then click on **Manage Integrations**.

6. Select whether we should ask the customer for consent before collecting and sharing any user data related to the Ads, or not. If this checkbox is enabled, on the first customer interaction with any Ad on the messaging platform (WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger) we'll send back a message asking if he/she allows their data to be collected by BirdCRM and shared with TikTok as a 3rd party partner. To know more about this consent, please refer to [here](#how-the-customer-consent-works).

7. Select the messaging channels you wish to use with this connector (you may select multiple).&#x20;

   <figure><img src="/files/HiwrVQYNETjlyclCRHWx" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## How to use the TikTok Ads connector

When the customer clicks on an Ad they see on TikTok they'll be redirected to the messaging app, in our case we'll use WhatsApp, with an already pre-written message containing the identifier of the Ad they clicked. When they hit send, if the connector was configured to request consent from the customer for collecting and sharing data, the customer will receive an automatic reply, like the one showed below.

<figure><img src="/files/GgU2d2HCKaeyuo2oq94e" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Upon agreement, we'll start collecting data from that conversation and sharing it with TikTok. To visualize the events sent to TikTok, go to your ads account, click on **Tools** and the on **Events.**

<figure><img src="/files/qrhm3ID5DQzs2AK57NHQ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

On the **Events Manager** page, you can select the **Event Set** you configured on your connector from the list on the right side of the page.

<figure><img src="/files/OZ5WjHoI2mpbV07l1uzP" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

On the **Event Set** page you'll the detailed information of the events that were sent to that event group.

## How the customer consent works

Before collecting any data, BirdCRM will ask for consent from the customer to collect information about that conversation to be used internally in our platform (to create personalized audiences, for example) and to be shared with the 3rd party advertisement platform, which is TikTok in this case. This consent in managed as a contact property inside the Bird platform and may be managed as so.

The customer consent is only valid for that specific advertising platform (TikTok) and messaging platform (WhatApp or Facebook Messenger). This means that if the customer has already given consent from one messaging platform and begins another conversation using the other messaging platform, we'll ask for the consent again for that new platform.

The consent is valid for 30 days by default, but it can be customized by business on the consent management. After that time window, if a customer who has previously given or reject their consent begins another conversation related to any TikTok ad, they will be asked again for their consent.
