# Migrating to another provider (BSP)

WhatsApp Business API now allows WhatsApp Business Accounts (WABA) phone numbers to switch between service providers. Please keep in mind, **this process must be initiated by your new Business Service Provider.**\
**In case of migrating to a BSP outside MessageBird, the number integrated to the platform must be your own. If you have a MessageBird VMN you will not be able to migrate this number to another BSP.**\
Before starting the process, you will need to remove 2FA from your account, you can find how to do so in our article [How to remove 2FA on my WhatsApp channel?](/connectivity-platform/account/how-to-remove-2fa-on-my-whatsapp-channel.md)

That's it! You are ready to request the phone number migration to your new BSP.\
