# When will customers receive the Abandoned Cart Recovery message?

Your customers will receive the message you set up in the Abandoned Cart Recovery Solution **within 3 hours after they abandon the checkout cart**. For now, it is not possible to modify this time variable in the [MessageBird Dashboard](https://dashboard.messagebird.com/en/user/index).&#x20;

**Why 3 hours?** We’re glad you asked! We analyzed performance in conversion and engagement across various timings, and we realized that using 3 hours as the default value ensures the best performance of the Abandoned Cart Recovery campaign while keeping it simple and efficient.
