# Getting approval to send to restricted countries

#### Why do I need approval?

Due to increasing SMS restrictions in certain places, it's necessary to request approval with MessageBird before you can send messages to the following countries:

* Australia
* Canada
* Denmark
* Malaysia
* New Zealand
* United Kingdom
* United States of America
* Singapore (specific documentation is required - [see here](https://docs.messagebird.com/connectivity-platform/country-restrictions-and-regulations/singapore))

#### How do I request approval?

In order to request approval, please fill in the form [here](https://dashboard.messagebird.com/en/settings/sms) and submit your request to whitelist your account. We will process any approval request **within 24 hours** and you will receive a confirmation via email.&#x20;

**For Singapore access**: only customers providing a copy of their Singapore company registration will be granted access to Singapore. Access to other Restricted Countries is given separately from the one for Singapore.\ <br>

**Does Singapore's approval extend to the other restricted countries?**&#x20;

Not at the moment. A separate request will be needed, but we intend to change this. Please check this page for updates.

#### Other restrictions

Note that you may still see local restrictions in some of the above destinations. These are separate to the restrictions above. Please see our [Country Restrictions page](/connectivity-platform/country-restrictions-and-regulations.md) for more info.

#### Need help?

If you did not get the confirmation email, please take the following steps:

* Check your spam folder and search for the confirmation email
* Check your inbox to see whether we have sent you an email requesting more information

If the confirmation email did not end up in your spam folder, and if we did not send you a follow-up email requesting additional information, please reach out to our Support team via [this page](https://www.messagebird.com/contact) with your [Workspace ID](https://docs.messagebird.com/connectivity-platform/troubleshooting/where-can-i-find-my-messagebird-workspace-id).&#x20;
