Forwarding your inbound SMS

MessageBird's Flow Builder allows you to forward incoming SMS in various ways. This can be particularly useful if you do not check the MessageBird Dashboard on a regular basis, but do expect to receive SMS from your end-users. Below we will discuss how to set up the following forwarding:
To forward your incoming SMS to your own mobile phone, or to any other phone number, open Flow Builder and select 'Create a new Flow'.
Name your flow and choose an SMS as the trigger. Click on 'Next'.
Click on the 'SMS' trigger and select your number
Now add the step 'Forward SMS', and write down the number you want the SMS to be forwarded to. Click on 'Save'. Your flow should look like this:
All set and ready! Just click on 'Publish' to make sure your Flow is active.
You can easily trigger a GET or POST request for your own server when your flow receives an incoming SMS. Go to Flow Builder in the Dashboard, and create a new flow using the steps below, or use the template ‘Call HTTP endpoint with SMS’.
Select the phone number you’d like to attach flow to.
Click on the ‘Forward to URL’ Step, and set up the attributes. In ‘Method’ choose between GET or POST request; you also need to type down the URL of your webhook. Click on save when ready.
When you are done building your flow, click on either ‘Save draft’ or ‘Publish’ on the right top of the screen.
You can easily forward all incoming SMS messages to an email address. This is particularly useful if you are using our Email to SMS service.
To set this up, go to Flow Builder in the Dashboard, and create a new flow following the steps below, or use the template ‘Forward SMS to Email’.
Select the phone number from which you would like to forward the SMS messages.
Write down the email address to which you would like to forward the SMS messages.
When you are done building your flow, click on either ‘Save draft’ or ‘Publish’ on the right top of the screen.
To forward your incoming SMS to your SMPP account, open Flow Builder and select 'Create a new Flow'.
Name your flow and choose an SMS as the trigger. Click on 'Next'.
Click on the 'SMS' trigger and select your number
Now add the step 'Forward to SMPP', and choose from the drop-down option on the right, the SMPP account you want the SMS to be forwarded to.
Click on 'Save'.
Your flow should look like this:
