# Setting up notification contacts

**What does it do?**

Setting up your email address(es) or phone number(s) in the [Notifications settings](https://dashboard.messagebird.com/en/settings/notifications) of your dashboard allows you to receive email or SMS notifications for financial, balance warning and technical related issues.

By default, all account owners and administrators receive the notifications below. You can add multiple contacts per notification type by click on the blue ‘+’ button.

**What types of notifications are available?**

* **Financial** - Allows invoices/orders to be emailed to you. We also email you once an order/invoice is paid (confirmation email).
* **Balance warning** - Allows you to receive notifications when your balance drops below a specific configured threshold.
* **Technical** - Allows you to receive technical notifications, for example when an SMPP account is created for your account.

**How can you set this up?**

Once you've chosen which contacts details you would like to configure, in the [Notifications settings](https://dashboard.messagebird.com/en-sg/settings/notifications), do fill out as much information as requested. You can add multiple contacts per notification type by click on the blue ‘+’ button.
